Grass Roots’ Graham Burt retires

6th August, 2009

The events and communications specialist Grass Roots is sad to announce that, following 20 years with the company, Head of Business Development Graham Burt is retiring.

Graham started his career in the performance improvement industry over 30 years ago with the E F McDonald Incentive Company.  He joined Grass Roots (then known as Maritz) in 1989 following several years running his own agency and has held roles including Account Director, Divisional Director of Grass Roots Communications and General Manager of Grass Roots Loyalty Marketing.

Nick Bender, Global Head of Events, Grass Roots says: “Graham is one of nature’s gentlemen and will be sadly missed by myself and my fellow directors.  The past couple of years have seen many changes within the company and his support and input have been invaluable to me. I am delighted that he will be continuing to work with us on an ad-hoc consultancy basis and wish him many happy years enjoying his retirement.”

As a well-known and respected figure within the industry, Graham has acted as mentor to many Grass Roots people as their careers have flourished.  He will be greatly missed by all at the company as a source of invaluable business and industry knowledge as well as his talent for building relationships and bringing new clients on board.

Graham comments: “I will be very sad to leave Grass Roots where I have spent some of the most enjoyable and challenging years of my career.  I will still be in regular touch with the business but am looking forward to having a little more time to dedicate to travel, sailing and my family – even combining all three on occasions!”
