Grass Roots employees donate Christmas gifts to local care home
5th January, 2009
The events and communications division of Grass Roots, based in Marlow, helped local elderly residents have a very Happy Christmas. The 170 employees donated money to purchase gifts for the residents of Sir Aubrey Ward House, a care home for the elderly in Marlow. The 43 residents had given Grass Roots an idea of what they wanted for Christmas, with requested gifts ranging from cardigans and pajamas to chocolates and soap.
Julie Philips, Financial Controller, Grass Roots who led the initiative commented: "Our employees were very generous and we were so pleased to be able to give each resident a gift that we knew would be appreciated. It was a lovely experience to deliver the presents in person on Christmas Eve and share a glass of sherry and a chat with the residents".
This is the second year running the local company has donated gifts to the Sir Aubrey Ward care home.
